Tuatara facts

Tuatara have a silver tummy. They can live until 200 years old. Their spikes are soft.Tuatara are reptiles. They are cold blooded. They feel scaly, soft, and kind of bumpy. One day to tuatara came in to our class, one was 8 and one was 12. There claws are really sharp. They are not lizards.They eat insects.They make burrows to live in. We need to protect them. We do not want them to be extinct. Tuatara are endangered.

Amazing Tuatara experience!

Wow, we were so lucky today to have Mike & Mark rom Whenua its visit our team with 2 endangered Tuatara!  They were amazing to look at and touch- very cold and they really had a dinosaur look about them. We are going to do some mini projects inspired by these amazing creatures- keep your eyes out on here for more.

Team time

Each week we have get together with the other Year 3 & 4 classes for some Team time.  Last week we went to our local beach- we were lucky the rain held off until we were back at school.  There was all sorts going on: huts, sand hopper hotels, rock skimming, digging, rock finding.... it was fun!thanks to everyone who came and made it easy & enjoyable.

Swim for Life!

We are in the middle of an 8 lesson programme with expert swim instructors.  They are helping us build our swimming skills & improve our style.  We have 3 groups, 1 in each lane. It is like a busy city motorway!
